Fortnite data miner Lucas7yoshi suggests video leaks of events and the conclusion of season 8 may remain undisclosed.

Fortnite Leakers Might No Longer Be Able to Leak Full Events or Season Finales in Season Eight

According to prominent leaker Lucas7yoshi, data miners for Fortnite: Battle Royale might not have the ability to leak complete events or season finale scenes in season eight.

The Past Leaks and the Method Behind Them

In season seven, Lucas7yoshi and AyeTSG leaked that the Ice King would be found inside a huge ice sphere floating over Polar Peak. This leak eventually led to the Ice Storm event that covered the entire Fortnite island in snow.

New Challenges for Leakers in Season Eight

As more secrets emerge in season eight, such as the excavation sites, helicopter, and the Ruin skin, Lucas7yoshi states that leakers might not be able to obtain videos like they did for the Ice King. This is because the method used for that leak was patched in a hotfix shortly after it was shared.

How the Ice King Leak Was Done

Lucas7yoshi explains that the Ice King leak was accomplished using replay files that are included in the game’s updates for performance and event tests. However, these replay files are generated “in the future” with an offset of several days, allowing them to capture events as they happen. By chance, one of these files was generated at the exact time the Ice King was inside the ice ball, which Lucas7yoshi then recorded and posted.

No More Leaks Like That in Replay Mode

Due to the technicalities of the replay files being generated under a different version of the game, it is no longer possible to perform leaks like the Ice King leak in replay mode. While it is still possible to analyze game files for a general idea of what will happen, leakers can no longer obtain the same level of detail or in-game footage.

Limited Hints for Season Eight Mysteries

Fans eager to uncover the mysteries of season eight might only have a few hints this time around, as it is unlikely that a full replay or video will spoil the future of Fortnite.
