Fortnite Community Faces Significant FPS Drops and Performance Issues with v8.30 Update.

Epic Games Investigating Massive Frame Rate Drops in Fortnite

Many PC players of Fortnite are experiencing significant drops in frame rates since the v8.30 update, confirmed by Epic Games. The Fortnite team is currently investigating this issue, as announced by the company’s social coordinator, TheStevieT on Reddit.

A few hours after TheStevieT’s comment, Epic deployed a patch to address stability issues in the game.

Fortnite Releases Patch for Stability Improvements

In a recent tweet, Fortnite announced the release of a patch that focuses on stability improvements. While there won’t be any downtime, players will be prompted to download the patch.

TheStevieT commented on a post where the author reported a drop in frame rate from 60 to 20 since the v8.30 update. Other players in the comment section also confirmed experiencing the same problem. Some players, even those with high-performance setups, claimed that the game has become unplayable due to the significant drop in FPS. One player mentioned their FPS going from as high as 144 to a mere 17.

According to other players, yesterday’s update that reduced the health of The Baller might be the cause of the performance issues. Another thread was started on Reddit, where players shared their experiences of experiencing the same problems with game performance.

Epic Games seems to be focusing on investigating this issue within a specific group of players and PC setups. TheStevieT requested players to reach out to him with their Epic ID and the platform they’re playing on. This suggests that the issue may be related to how the game interacts with certain PC parts that are common among these players.

Epic Games has not yet provided an estimated date for fixing these performance issues in Fortnite.
