Fortnite Bug Allows Players to Obtain Multiple Copies of Items through Vending Machines

Fortnite Players Discover Bug in Vending Machines After v8.10 Update

Fortnite: Battle Royale players have come across a bug in the new Vending Machines that were introduced in the recent v8.10 update.

When multiple players interact with a Vending Machine at the same time, the machine will drop one copy of the item it holds for each player instead of dropping a single copy for the first interaction.

Vending Machines are meant to be free and provide only one copy of the item once a player interacts with it. After that, the Vending Machine disappears and cannot be used by other players. However, due to this bug, the machine drops a copy for each interaction completed before its animation is finished, rather than just one copy for the first interaction.

A player named Alukarulz uploaded a video showing how easy it is to exploit this bug with any number of players and any Vending Machine. They consistently obtained four items using this exploit, ranging from Shield Potions to Legendary Rocket Launchers.

Epic Games’ community coordinator, Sean “MrPopoTFS” Hamilton, responded to the issue on the Reddit thread. He acknowledged that while teamwork is important, this is not how Vending Machines are intended to function. MrPopoTFS confirmed that Epic is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
