Epic Games Enables Gifting in Fortnite: Battle Royale for a Limited Time
Epic Games announced that they have once again enabled gifting in Fortnite: Battle Royale for a limited time. This feature allows players to send their friends any cosmetic item from the Item Shop. The gifting system is already available to all players, so they can start sending gifts right away.
Requirements for Sending Gifts
In order to send gifts to friends, players must have two-factor authentication turned on in their Epic Games account. Additionally, they can only gift players who have been on their friends list for more than 48 hours. There is a limit of three gifts per day, but there is no cap on the number of items that a player can receive.
How to Send Gifts
To send a gift to a friend, simply go to the Item Shop and select the cosmetic item you want to gift. Then, choose the option “Buy as a gift” and a list of players that you can send the gift to will appear. Select the recipient and complete the process. It’s important to note that it is not possible to gift items from your Locker to friends.
Refunds and Account Settings
Gifts in Fortnite are non-refundable. Players also have the option to choose whether or not they want to receive gifts from friends in their account settings.
Last year, Epic Games briefly introduced gifting before disabling the feature after a week. The company has not revealed when they will disable the gifting system this time around.
