Fortnite Playground Mode Delayed Again
Fortnite: Battle Royale players will have to wait a bit longer for the return of the highly anticipated Playground Limited Time Mode. Despite earlier promises from Epic Games that changes were being implemented to address issues with the mode, the developers announced on Twitter that Playground would not be returning tonight.
Matchmaking Issues Delay Playground Mode
Many fans have been eagerly awaiting the sandbox-style mode known as Playground, believing it would offer a casual environment for new players to learn the game. However, when it was initially launched with the v4.5 update, matchmaking issues caused the mode to be quickly removed for further development.
An Epic employee later posted on Reddit, explaining the issues with the mode’s launch and the steps taken to address them. Changes and improvements were made to the matchmaking service, but it appears that additional time and work are still necessary.
More Testing Needed Before Unlocking Playground
The official Fortnite Twitter account announced that the matchmaking improvements need further testing before Playground can be unlocked again. Details about the delay will be provided tomorrow, but it’s unclear if Playground will be back tomorrow as well.
