Fortnite: Battle Royale likely introducing Trios mode

Fortnite: Battle Royale Datamine Reveals New Trios Game Mode

Fans of Fortnite: Battle Royale can expect a highly-requested game mode in the near future, according to a recent datamine.

A Twitter user named Lucas7Yoshi_ discovered a Trios mode in the game files, which will introduce three-player teams competing against each other. This mode is currently the only one missing from Fortnite, as the game already offers Solo, Duos, and Squads.

It is not clear from the game files whether Trios will become a permanent addition or a Limited Time Mode. The mode is generically described as a “Classic Battle Royale with Three-Person Squads,” leaving players uncertain about its future.

Until now, players wanting to form teams of three in Fortnite had to compete in Squads games, which put them at a disadvantage with a four-vs-three scenario. This new game mode may also offer the competitive scene a fresh format to experiment with as Epic has previously shown a preference against Squads in competitive play. Trios could potentially be a suitable alternative.

While leaks like this one are typically accurate, there has been no official confirmation from Epic Games regarding the validity of this datamine. In fact, Epic has recently taken steps to reduce leaks, including requesting a leaker to delete all of their social media accounts.

Dataminers also discovered several new skins after the 7.10 update, most of which were frozen versions of existing outfits.
