Fortnite: Battle Royale Breaks Records in Revenue and Userbase

The popular game Fortnite: Battle Royale has achieved new milestones, becoming the largest free-to-play console game in terms of revenue and monthly active users, as revealed in a report by gaming research firm SuperData.

Fortnite has surpassed its rival PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in both revenue and userbase across all platforms. Notably, Fortnite Mobile even reached the number one spot on the iOS charts in the U.S. within its first month of launch.

SuperData’s report highlights the astonishing amount of money generated by Fortnite. In March alone, the game brought in a total of $223 million across all platforms. This surge in revenue can be attributed to the game’s release on mobile, extensive media coverage, the introduction of a new Battle Pass, and the popularity of the “John Wick” Reaper skin. March’s earnings exceeded February’s by an impressive 73%. Additionally, the game’s availability on multiple platforms has contributed to its success.

It is remarkable that Fortnite has managed to earn $223 million in just one month, considering that the game is completely free to play. This statistic demonstrates the immense popularity of Fortnite.

Epic Games has achieved unprecedented success in the gaming industry with Fortnite. The game’s revenue primarily comes from in-game cosmetic microtransactions, but Epic’s commitment to providing consistent updates and new content keeps players engaged and returning for more.
