Fix bugs and inconsistencies of old sniper rifles in Fortnite: Battle Royale’s v7.20 update.

Epic Games Enhances Sniper Rifles in Latest Fortnite Update

Fortnite developer, Epic Games, has made significant improvements to Sniper Rifles with the release of the v7.20 update. In the patch notes, the company outlined several adjustments to the behavior of all weapons in this class.

Noticeable Changes in Sniper Rifle Behavior

One immediate change that Sniper Rifle enthusiasts will notice is the slight alteration in bullet trajectory. The Bolt-Action, Suppressed, Semi-Auto, and Hunting Sniper Rifles now have the same trajectory as the Heavy Sniper Rifle. However, Epic Games has not provided specific details on how much the trajectory has changed or if players need to adjust their aiming technique with these weapons.

Once you master your aim with one of these Sniper Rifles, you’ll be able to apply that skill to all other rifles of the same class.

To make aiming easier, Epic Games has reduced the size of the red dot in the center of the scope. This adjustment aims to prevent situations where it appears that you are on target, but you still miss the shot. This change is especially beneficial when facing opponents at close range, as the red dot now accurately represents where the bullet will hit.

Less Obvious Changes

Epic Games has also addressed a significant issue with Scoped Rifles. Previously, the center dot of the reticle while scoped did not align with the center dot while unscoped. This oversight was brought to the developers’ attention in December, when players noticed that the aim would shift significantly when switching from another weapon class to a Sniper Rifle without scoping. This misalignment often caused players to miss their shots, limiting the effectiveness of certain Sniper Rifle strategies in fast-paced situations.

Furthermore, Epic Games fixed a bug that allowed Sniper Rifles to reach full accuracy faster than intended. Although no specific details were provided, it seems that this issue pertained to how quickly the weapon recovered full accuracy after a player stopped moving or landed on the ground.

In the v7.20 update, Sniper Rifles should exhibit greater consistency and reward players who employ creative strategies and demonstrate good aim, as they should have from the beginning. Players can test these changes as soon as the server downtime for the update concludes in a couple of hours.
