Fortnite: Battle Royale to Introduce Respawn Vans for Players
The popular online game Fortnite: Battle Royale is set to add a new feature that will allow players to be resurrected by their allies after being eliminated in a match. These Respawn Vans were initially leaked by dataminers and were later showcased during an official Fortnite tournament livestream.
Although players in the tournament were unable to use the vans due to it being a Solo competition, it is expected that the Respawn Vans will function similarly to existing respawn mechanics in limited-time Fortnite game modes, as well as in Apex Legends, the world’s second-largest battle royale game.

How respawning works in Fortnite
In the default playlists for Solo, Duos, and Squads, players who are eliminated are permanently removed from the game. They cannot reappear in the same match. However, there are certain game modes, such as Team Rumble, Food Fight, and Disco Domination, where respawning is enabled and players can return to the game after a short delay.
Respawn Vans and their potential function
It is speculated that the Respawn Vans in Fortnite will function similarly to how they do in Apex Legends. When a player is down, their teammates can retrieve an item from the area where they were eliminated. This item would then be taken to the Respawn Van, where an ally would need to interact with it for a few seconds. Subsequently, the eliminated player would descend from the sky and rejoin the game, akin to respawning in other game modes.
In default playlists, eliminating a player results in them dropping all their items on the ground. Hence, respawning in these playlists would likely mean that the player returns with an empty inventory, necessitating them to loot for supplies again.
We are still awaiting more information about the exact mechanics of the Respawn Vans. However, players can anticipate their release sometime during season eight of Fortnite.
