Epic reveals increase in projectile size of Infantry Rifle in Fortnite’s v8.10 update

Epic Games Increases Projectile Size for Infantry Rifles in Fortnite

Epic Games has made an important change to the projectile size of Infantry Rifles in the latest update for Fortnite: Battle Royale. However, this change was not mentioned in the patch notes, as revealed by community coordinator Sean “MrPopoTFS” Hamilton on Reddit.

The purpose of this change is to enhance the accuracy of shooting with any variant of the Infantry Rifle. Players should now find it easier to hit shots since the update was implemented two days ago.

MrPopoTFS shared this information in response to a player’s request for an Infantry Rifle buff, including improvements to its damage and hip fire accuracy. Surprisingly, the only change mentioned in the v8.10 patch notes was the removal of the Common variant, while all other statistics remained unchanged.

The Infantry Rifle was introduced in the v7.40 update a few weeks ago as a new Assault Rifle. It features fast projectiles and no damage falloff, making its close and long-range damage consistent. Speculations suggest that Epic Games may introduce Epic and Legendary variants of the Infantry Rifle in the future.

Notable Changes in the v8.10 Update for Fortnite

Aside from the Infantry Rifle adjustment, Epic Games made several other tweaks to Fortnite weapons. This includes reducing the rarity and damage of Heavy Assault Rifles, which are now available in Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants, dealing 36, 38, and 40 damage per shot respectively. The previous Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants dealt more damage for each tier.

Improved Accuracy for Players

Following the recent update, players can expect a noticeable improvement in accuracy when using the Infantry Rifle in their next Fortnite match.
