Epic Gaming files lawsuit against Norwich Fortnite festival failure

Epic Games Taking Legal Action Against Organizers of Norwich Fortnite Live Festival

Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, has initiated legal proceedings against the organizers of the recent Norwich Fortnite Live festival. The event garnered widespread attention on social media, with many comparing it to the disastrous Fyre Festival.

A Disastrous Festival with Mismanaged Attractions

The festival received negative reviews due to its mismanaged attractions and lack of activities. There was only a small climbing wall available for over 3,000 children, which resulted in numerous refunds being issued on the day.

Unlicensed and Unauthorized Use of Fortnite Materials

The festival was not authorized or licensed by Epic Games. The event organizers, Exciting Events, used licensed Fortnite materials without approval from Epic, including the promotion of the festival through their Facebook page.

Legal Action Taken by Epic Games

Epic Games has stated that it is not associated with the Norwich event and has filed a claim against Exciting Events in the High Court in London. The company will be taking legal action against the organizers for unauthorized use of their intellectual property.

Exciting Events had announced plans to bring the festival back next year, but the likelihood of that happening is now uncertain.
