The Latest Free Challenges for Fortnite’s Fortnitemares Event Bring Unexpected Rewards
Today, Fortnite players were delighted to discover that the third set of free challenges for the Halloween-themed event, Fortnitemares, has been added to the game. However, these challenges had an unintended surprise in store for players.
One of the progressive challenges in part three of Fortnitemares required players to travel to different locations. Interestingly, the second and third stages of this challenge unintentionally rewarded a significant number of Battle Stars instead of XP. By simply traveling to Fatal Fields and Haunted Hills, players could earn a whopping 350 Battle Stars.

Epic Games has now taken steps to address this bug and ensure that these challenges will award XP as intended.
According to Epic, “We have just released a fix for some of the Part 3 Fortnitemares challenges that were granting Battle Stars instead of XP. Please be aware, the UI will still show the reward as Battle Stars until the next update. This was our goof and you will keep everything you’ve already earned.”
Fortunately, Fortnite players who completed these challenges earlier today will get to keep all the rewards they earned from the plentiful Battle Stars. So, if you missed out on visiting Fatal Fields and Haunted Hills this morning, it seems that you’ve missed your chance.
