Epic Games Aims to Revolutionize Fortnite’s Endgame Meta

Epic Games Announces Plans to Evolve Fortnite’s Gameplay

Epic Games recently revealed its intentions to bring about significant changes to the strategies employed in Fortnite, particularly during the endgame phase.

Epic Games stated in its blog post, “We want to support a wide range of late game strategies, rather than simply relying on the ‘just build lol’ approach. We firmly believe that Fortnite should encourage diverse playstyles and counterplay. However, the current dominance of shotguns, rockets, and unlimited building in the final circle has overshadowed most other strategies.”

To address this issue, Epic Games has already implemented a series of changes to shake up the endgame meta. These include nerfing shotguns and supply llamas, reducing the drop rate of floor loot materials, and limiting the amount of explosive ammo a player can carry.

Currently, Fortnite’s endgame largely revolves around amassing an excessive amount of building materials. It often comes down to who possesses the most rockets, the high ground advantage, and superior building abilities in battles, as well as wielding shotguns.

In light of this, Epic Games has expressed its intentions to further explore changes to weapon balance and resource management. This includes potentially imposing a cap on the amount of resources a player can hold.

“Fortnite is constantly evolving,” Epic Games emphasized. “We aim to make the game enjoyable and engaging, continually providing a fresh and exciting experience. Victory Royales should be achievable through multiple strategies. Shotguns can remain powerful, but other weapon types have room for growth. Every encounter doesn’t have to culminate in a structure-building showdown. We want to empower players to showcase their skills, strategies, and tactics in a variety of ways.”

In conclusion, Epic Games confirmed that it will be actively exploring these current and future changes in the upcoming weeks.
