Epic acknowledges bug in Fortnite’s Week 6 challenge of damaging with five different weapons

Fortnite Season Seven Week Six Challenges Causing Issues for Players

Completing challenges in Fortnite: Battle Royale can earn players Battle Stars, but some challenges in week six of season seven are causing unintended trouble.

Players attempting to deal damage to opponents with five different weapons in a single match are experiencing issues. The game is not registering damage for certain weapons, seemingly at random.

The intention of the challenge is for players to deal damage with five unique weapons, regardless of whether they belong to the same category. For example, using two different Pistols, two different Shotguns, and two different Assault Rifles should grant credit for six weapons rather than three categories.

However, players have reported being unable to complete the challenge even with loadouts that should meet the requirements. Testing the aforementioned loadout, instead of receiving three credits for categories or six for individual weapons, we only received credit for four.

Epic has acknowledged that this challenge is bugged and will be fixed in a future update. The issue appears to occur only in game modes with respawns.

In the meantime, Epic advises players to attempt the challenge in non-respawn game modes, such as Disco Domination. Players should avoid modes with respawns until the bug is resolved.

Epic has stated that not all players are affected by this issue, but has not indicated whether a pattern has been identified. Until a solution is found, completing the challenge may prove difficult for some players.
