Fortnite Players Win $40,000 in Tournament
Two relatively unknown Fortnite players, Davis “Ceice” McClellan and Thomas “Elevate” Krueger, emerged as champions in the WSOE Fortnite event. They took home a grand prize of $40,000 after scoring 610 points in the finals, defeating 49 other teams.
Impressive Victory for Ceice and Elevate
Coming out on top, Ceice and Elevate managed to outperform Rocco “Saf” Morales and Wiliams “Zayt” Aubin, who secured second place with a total of 590 points. Despite strong competition from well-known players like Aydan Conrad, Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin, and Brendan “Jaomock” O’Brien, Ceice and Elevate claimed victory.
Significant Earnings for Elevate
Elevate’s success in the WSOE tournament was a career-defining moment for him as he had previously earned less than $10,000 from Fortnite: Battle Royale, as reported by Esports Earnings. However, this tournament prize money alone significantly boosted his earnings.
Future Prospects
With the WSOE event behind them, Fortnite competitive players are now preparing for in-game tournaments and the upcoming Fortnite World Cup qualification, scheduled to start in 2019.
