Apex Legends Surpasses Fortnite’s Single-Day Twitch Viewership Record

Apex Legends Surpasses Fortnite’s Record for Most-Watched Day on Twitch

Last Tuesday, viewers tuned in for over 8.2 million hours of Apex Legends, surpassing Fortnite’s previous record, as reported by The Esports Observer.

This milestone was achieved during the Twitch Rivals tournament, featuring popular streamers like Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, Jaryd “Summit1G” Lazar, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Viewers collectively watched 8.28 million hours of Apex Legends, surpassing the game’s previous record of 5.87 million hours set the day before.

This achievement not only surpassed Apex Legends’ own record, but also exceeded Fortnite’s best day on Twitch, which occurred on July 20, 2018, during the Summer Skirmish event, with 6.6 million hours watched.

Despite not winning the Twitch Rivals tournament, Shroud had the most-watched stream with 1.1 million hours, while Ninja came in second with 573,840 hours.

Apex Legends continues to make its mark in the gaming and streaming industries, similar to Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds before it. The game has already reached 25 million players and its popularity shows no signs of slowing down.

With its remarkable success, it remains to be seen how far Apex Legends can go, but it has certainly fulfilled the expectations of players searching for a worthy competitor to Fortnite.
