All Fortnite island cracks caused by earthquakes to date

As each season of Fortnite: Battle Royale comes to an end, players are treated to strange events occurring throughout the island. Season seven is no exception, as cracks are forming on the ground near Tomato Temple and Lazy Links.

Initially, players noticed a crack southwest of Tomato Temple following an earthquake. It can still be seen on a hill to the right of the river. Later that day, a second crack formed between the Temple and Lazy Links, near a bridge. Fortnite leakers suggest that more cracks are on the way, and fans have even created a table with dates and times of possible crack appearances.

What are these cracks?

The purpose of these cracks remains unknown. They are likely part of the lead-up to season eight, as revealed by dataminers a few weeks ago. However, it’s unclear what will happen once all the cracks appear.

Weird things have been happening recently. Players experienced multiple earthquakes during their matches, increasing in intensity but causing no map changes. It was only the most recent earthquakes that started forming cracks on the ground.

There are theories and speculations about a volcano rising from the Fortnite island, located where the cracks are forming and leaked images show a different version of Wailing Woods with burnt soil. This makes sense since mountains and volcanoes in real life are formed by the same geological processes that cause earthquakes. If it’s happening in Fortnite, it’s happening much faster than it would in reality.

Where are the cracks?

So far, Fortnite players have only witnessed a few cracks. Here is the order in which the cracks were discovered:

We will provide updates on this story as more cracks appear in Fortnite.
