Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite excluded from the Capcom Pro Tour

Capcom has revealed the details of the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Capcom Pro Tour 2018 season. It will be divided into two main events, offline and online.

The offline event will feature nine tournaments across North America, Europe, and Asia. The top 16 players from these events will compete at the grand finals in December. The first offline tournament will take place at Final Round in Atlanta on March 16-18. The inclusion of the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite game in the Capcom Pro Tour lineup is a stepping stone towards making it a more prominent figure in the fighting game community.

On the other hand, the online event will consist of two online leagues, one for North America and one for Europe. These leagues will run for seven weeks, giving players the opportunity to earn points for a spot in the grand finals. The best eight players from each league will face off in the online regional finals.

The total prize pool for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Capcom Pro Tour 2018 season is $120,000, with $60,000 going toward the offline events and $60,000 for the online events. Players will earn points based on their placement in each tournament and league, ultimately aiming for a spot in the grand finals.

Capcom also stated that it will introduce new costumes inspired by the Infinity Stones along with balance updates, bug fixes, and additional content for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

With the inclusion of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite in the Capcom Pro Tour 2018 season, competitive players and fans have more opportunities to showcase their skills while enjoying the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
