Xbox Announces Full Refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 Purchases on Microsoft Store

Xbox Expands Refund Policy for Cyberpunk 2077 Purchases

Xbox announced today that it is expanding its refund policy to offer full refunds on purchases of Cyberpunk 2077 from the Microsoft Store.

Performance Issues with the Xbox One Version

The highly anticipated RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 developed by CD PROJEKT RED, has been facing performance issues on the Xbox One. Players have been experiencing muddy textures, poor framerates, and overall shoddy performance.

“While we know the developers at CD PROJEKT RED have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk 2077 in extremely challenging circumstances, we also realize that some players have been unhappy with the current experience on older consoles,” Xbox stated.

Xbox Follows Sony’s Lead

This announcement comes just a day after Sony revealed it was offering full refunds and removing Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store due to the game’s current state on PS4.

Refund Process for Xbox Customers

Xbox has already granted refunds to the majority of customers who have requested one. For those who purchased the game digitally from the Microsoft Store, they can apply for a refund on the Microsoft support page.

Despite the performance issues, Cyberpunk 2077 is still available for purchase on the Microsoft Store. The Xbox Series X version of the game, however, runs and performs significantly better than the previous generation consoles.
