Unveiling Cyberpunk 2077’s latest surprise: A prominent celebrity in a significant role that went unnoticed

Celebrity Cameo in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has added another celebrity to its star-studded lineup. Keanu Reeves voices and motion captures the character of Johnny Silverhand, while Idris Elba portrays Solomon Reed in the expansion. But there’s one celebrity in Phantom Liberty that you might have missed.

Unless you’re familiar with Polish pop culture and music, you probably didn’t notice the cameo by Dante Caruso in the “Shot by Both Sides” side quest. Dante is motion captured by famous Polish pop artist Dawid Podsiadło. While Podsiadło voices the character in the Polish version, Steven Cree provides the voice for the English version.

This isn’t the first time Dawid Podsiadło has collaborated with CD Projekt Red on Cyberpunk 2077. He composed the theme song for Phantom Liberty and previously created a song called “Let You Down” for the end credits of the Edgerunners anime.

Podsiadło is one of the most popular artists in Poland, with over 3 million listeners on Spotify (according to Shiningbeats). His concerts regularly sell out the biggest stadiums in the country, making him a household name among Polish music fans.

Unfortunately, Dante only appears in one quest in Phantom Liberty. In the “Shot by Both Sides” quest, you assist a journalist named Bree in retrieving important data. The outcome of the quest depends on whether you side with Bree or Dante, but we won’t spoil it for you.

In the Polish version of the game, the quest has a slightly different name: “W Dobrą Stronę,” which is the title of one of Podsiadło’s biggest hits. Be warned, if you give it a listen, you’ll have it stuck in your head all day.

All in all, with Podsiadło’s involvement in CD Projekt Red’s projects, we can only hope to see him in the upcoming live-action adaptation. Fingers crossed!
