Top Cyberware choices in Cyberpunk 2077

The game has changed in Night City. Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone a significant transformation with Update 2.0. The update includes a complete revamp of the perk system, upgrades to combat AI and police, and major changes to the Cyberware slot.

With Update 2.0, Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 is subject to two critical changes. First, there is now a Cyberware Capacity number that sets a limit on how much Cyberware you can have. Second, Cyberware now comes with an armor value that determines your overall armor rating, rendering clothing purely cosmetic. You can increase the armor value of Cyberware by upgrading individual Cyberware items with crafting materials.

To maximize your Cyberware effects and capacity, it is highly recommended to invest points into your Technical Ability and acquire perks in the central Technical Ability tree, particularly Renaissance Punk and Edgerunner for increased capacity. Whether you have ample or limited Cyberware capacity, here are the top prioritized pieces you should consider:

1. Reinforced Tendons

Perform a double jump by jumping while in mid-air.

  • Slot: Legs
  • Cyberware Capacity cost: Eight points
  • Potential Bonuses: Increases crit chance per attuned attribute point, increases health regen bonus, and increases explosion damage resistance.

In all my playthroughs, I have found the Reinforced Tendons incredibly useful. Whether I’m a stealth cyber-runner, a charging soldier, or a long-range sniper, the double jump provided by Reinforced Tendons allows me to reach vantage points, find alternative building entrances, and navigate enemy encounters with ease.

2. Biomonitor

Automatically heals you with equipped Health Items when your Health falls below 35 percent.

  • Slot: Circulatory System
  • Cyberware Capacity cost: 14 points
  • Potential Bonuses: Increases health item effectiveness per attuned attribute point, increases health regen bonus, increases health item recharge speed.

A significant change in Cyberpunk 2077 is the revised health item mechanics. Instead of one-time-use items, health items now have limited charges that replenish over time. With Biomonitor, you can rely on automatic healing in desperate situations, especially for fast-paced and risky gameplay styles.

3. Ex-Disk

Increases maximum RAM and enhances upload speed for quickhacks.

  • Slot: Frontal Cortex
  • Cyberware Capacity cost: 10 points
  • Potential Bonuses: Increases all damage dealt per attuned attribute point, increases headshot damage multiplier, increases health.

Whether you’re a quickhack novice or a master at wiping out enemies with powerful quickhacks, the Ex-Disk provides additional RAM and faster execution of quickhacks. This is incredibly valuable for strategizing and dealing significant damage.

4. Epimorphic Skeleton

Increases maximum health and provides a high amount of armor.

  • Slot: Skeleton
  • Cyberware Capacity cost: 40 points
  • Potential Bonuses: Increases health per attuned attribute point, increases mitigation strength, increases health item effectiveness.

The Epimorphic Skeleton may consume a significant portion of your Cyberware Capacity, but its benefits, including enhanced health and armor, especially at higher tiers, make it a worthwhile investment. This is a must-have if you frequently find yourself in intense combat situations.

5. Kerenzikov

Allows you to use ranged attacks while sliding, dodging, or dashing. Slows time briefly when aiming a ranged attack during a slide, dodge, or dash.

  • Slot: Nervous System
  • Cyberware Capacity cost: 12 points
  • Potential Bonuses: Increases crit chance per attuned attribute point, increases reload speed, and increases weapon handling.

The Kerenzikov is an excellent tool for any player, especially those with high Reflexes attribute and movement-related perks. Gain control over combat scenarios with a brief slowed-down moment, allowing you to plan your next move or deal massive damage.
