Release date for Cyberpunk 2077 delayed once more

CD Projeckt RED Delays Release of Cyberpunk 2077 to Dec. 10

CD Projeckt RED has once again postponed the highly-anticipated action role-play shooter, Cyberpunk 2077. The new release date is Dec. 10, which is 21 days later than the previously announced date of Nov. 19.

Reasons Behind the Delay

The developers of Cyberpunk 2077 took to Twitter to apologize for the delay. They mentioned that the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenge of testing the game for multiple platforms simultaneously were the primary reasons for the postponement.

The developers acknowledged the difficulty of simultaneously shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC versions. They explained that preparing and testing nine different versions of the game while working from home posed a significant challenge.

Past Delays and Impact of COVID-19

CD Projekt RED previously assured gamers that Cyberpunk 2077 would not face further delays. However, due to the implementation of work-from-home policies triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was pushed from its original date in April to Sept. 17, and then again to Nov. 19.

The Focus on Quality

While the delay may disappoint players, CD Projekt RED stated that their priority is to deliver a high-quality product. They emphasized their commitment to making even the toughest decisions to ensure players receive a game they will love.
