Is it possible to have romantic relationships with multiple characters in Cyberpunk 2077?

In the world of gaming, decision-making is a crucial aspect of Cyberpunk 2077. Players often wonder if choosing to engage romantically with one character will prevent them from doing the same with another character later on.

While it may sound unethical to pursue multiple romances simultaneously, it’s important to remember that Cyberpunk is a game that revolves around moral decay.

Cyberpunk 2077: The Rules of Romance Explained

First and foremost, the big question: Yes, you can romance multiple characters in Cyberpunk 2077, and there are no consequences for doing so.

Notably, the game itself does not mention any negative repercussions for pursuing multiple romances. This is actually quite refreshing, as it can be frustrating when characters somehow know about the player’s interactions with other characters they have no connection with.

If you choose to engage in multiple romances, you can fully invest in and pursue both relationships simultaneously. Only during a specific sequence towards the end of the game will you be forced to choose one partner. However, if you have multiple partners at that point, you can select which one you would like to continue with.

In addition, you can enlist the services of Joytoys without any impact on your existing or future romances.

Since the game never explicitly addresses the issue of pursuing multiple romances, it is entirely up to the player whether to roleplay the situation or not. No character ever demands monogamy or asks the player character to refrain from engaging with others. Therefore, players can choose to imagine their character and their partner as polyamorous or view their character as a scoundrel engaging in multiple relations.

What are the Limitations on Romances in Cyberpunk 2077?

Similar to the real world, what matters in the game is not what you do, but what you look like. Each character available for romance has specific gender orientations that determine whether romance is possible. The limitations for the four main romance options are as follows:

  • Judy: V must have a feminine voice and body type
  • Panam: V must have a masculine body type
  • River: V must have a feminine body type
  • Kerry: V must have a masculine voice and body type

Due to these characters’ preferences, players can date Judy and River simultaneously or Kerry and Panam simultaneously. However, this limitation is based on orientations, not quantity restrictions.

Any one-off hookup options, such as Meredith Stout and Joytoys, are available regardless of V’s appearance and will not impact long-term romances in any way.
