Idris Elba will not be a romance option in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077’s New Expansion “Phantom Liberty” Previewed with Idris Elba

The highly anticipated first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, titled “Phantom Liberty,” is set to premiere on Sept. 26. One of the exciting aspects of this expansion is the addition of new celebrities to the cast, including Idris Elba. However, fans will be disappointed to learn that they cannot romance Elba’s character in the game.

In “Phantom Liberty,” Elba portrays Solomon Reed, a skilled member of the Federal Intelligence Agency. Although the trailer hasn’t revealed much about the story, players are eagerly looking forward to exploring it. Some fans had hoped for a romantic storyline with Elba’s character, but the actor confirmed in an interview with IGN that it won’t be possible.

When a fan asked Elba about romancing his character, he quickly responded, “I’m not a romance option.” Unfortunately, players will have to pass on the opportunity to pursue a relationship with Elba’s character, just like they couldn’t romance Keanu Reeves’ character, Johnny Silverhand. However, the intriguing story and the introduction of the new district of Dogtown will keep players hooked, leaving little time for romantic side stories.

In the latest cinematic trailer for “Phantom Liberty,” Reed is shown attempting to escape Night City by train. However, he is ambushed by a group of agents and framed alongside his Netrunner friend. The trailer ends with President Rosalind Myers’ ship being hit by a missile in space and seemingly crashing into Night City. These events take place seven years ago, and it remains unclear what happens to Reed.
