If you recently got a free PS5 upgrade with your Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 copy, you may be wondering how to transfer your save files. Luckily, CD Projekt RED and Sony have made the process simple. There are three methods you can use: connecting your PS Plus account online storage, data transfer via LAN or WiFi, or transferring using a compatible storage device. Method One: Connecting your PS Plus account online storage
To use this method, you’ll need to use PlayStation’s online storage function. This feature allows you to save and transfer game files between consoles. If you haven’t activated automatic uploads, don’t worry. We’ll guide you through the manual upload process.
- On your PlayStation 4, go to Settings.
- Find Application Data Management and select it.
- Locate Saved Data in System Storage and choose Cyberpunk 2077.
- Click Yes to upload your save file.
- Select Upload to Online Storage.
- Switch to your PlayStation 5 and go to Settings.
- Select Saved Data (PS4).
- Choose Cloud Storage and click Cyberpunk 2077.
- Select Download to Console Storage.
Method Two: Data transfer via LAN or WiFi
Before starting the data transfer process, make sure both your PS4 and PS5 are updated and that you’re signed in to the same account on both consoles.
- On your PS4, go to Trophies.
- Press the Options button while in Trophies.
- Click Sync with PlayStation Network.
- Connect both consoles to the same network using WiFi or a LAN cable.
- If using a LAN cable, plug one end into the PS5 and the other into the PS4.
- Make sure both consoles are powered on.
- On your PS5, go to Settings.
- Select System, then go into System Software.
- Click Data Transfer and hit Continue.
- Select the PS4 you want to transfer your Cyberpunk 2077 save from.
- Press and hold the power button on your PS4 until it beeps.
- On the PS5, choose the Cyberpunk 2077 data to transfer.
- Click Start Transfer.
- Your console will restart after the transfer is complete.
Method Three: Transferring via a compatible storage device
The final method requires a compatible storage device and cable.
- Connect a USB storage device to your PS4.
- Go to Settings and select Application Saved Data Management.
- Choose Saved Data in System Storage.
- Click Copy to USB Storage Device.
- Select the Cyberpunk 2077 save file you want to transfer.
- Transfer the save to the USB drive.
- Switch to your PS5 and go to Settings.
- Select Saved Data and Game/App Settings.
- Choose Saved Data (PS4).
- Select USB Drive.
- Click Copy to Console Storage.
