Guide: Completing “The Killing Moon” Quest in Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077: The Killing Moon Job in Phantom Liberty

If you sided with Songbird during Firestarter, The Killing Moon is the last main job in Phantom Liberty. It’s important to note that depending on your choices, this job can lock you out of a new base game ending. However, there’s no right or wrong choice in Cyberpunk.

Here’s a walkthrough of The Killing Moon job, with and without spoilers, including the consequences of the major decision at the end of the job.

How to Start The Killing Moon Job in Phantom Liberty

To start The Killing Moon, you must side with Songbird during Firestarter. After escaping from the stadium with Songbird, the job automatically begins.

The Killing Moon Walkthrough

The Killing Moon has several steps and objectives, and there are optional choices you can make along the way:

Proceed to the Airport

Songbird loses control of the van, so you must take manual control and drive to NCX—Night City’s Metropolitan Airport with lunar access.

Get Through Airport Security

At the airport, go through the security checkpoint by looking into a camera and answering the security agent’s questions. Choose any dialogue option to get through.

Find a Way into the Tycha Terminal

You can either sneak into the Tycha Terminal or use the Corp-Bud uniform. The uniform is a better choice as it allows you to move freely without suspicion.

Retrieve the Corp-Bud Uniform (Optional)

If you choose to use the uniform, you can find it in a yellow suitcase at the baggage retrieval terminal. Input the code 930604 to locate the suitcase.

Sneak into the Tycha Terminal (Optional)

If you don’t use the uniform, you’ll have to sneak into the Tycha Terminal. Be cautious and avoid being detected.

Take the Elevator to the Roof

Reach the back end of the construction site in Tycha Terminal and use the elevator to go to the roof of NCX.

Help Songbird onto the Roof

Find a fire-hose on the catwalk and use it to help Songbird up to the roof.

Follow Songbird to the Spaceport

Follow Songbird through a ventilation system to reach the elevator leading to the Spaceport of NCX. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to eavesdrop and learn more about the mission.

Proceed Through the Tycha Terminal to the Maglev Station

Fight your way through the spaceport, avoiding the helicopter’s attacks. Reach the maglev station and defend against FIA agents until the train arrives.

Reach the Control Tower and Survive Until the Train Arrives

Make your way to the circular glass control station in the center of the maglev station. Fight off enemies and survive until the train arrives.

Carry Songbird to the Shuttle

As the train is about to arrive, Songbird reveals that there’s only one dose of the cure. You’re faced with a decision—stay loyal to Songbird or surrender her to Reed. Depending on your choice, you’ll experience different outcomes.

What Happens if You Side with Songbird?

If you choose to stay loyal to Songbird, you’ll enter a shootout with Reed. Depending on who shoots first, either Reed or V will be killed. Songbird will be loaded onto the shuttle, and you’ll later learn that the cure worked.

What Happens if You Side with Reed?

If you choose to surrender Songbird to Reed, her fate remains unknown. However, you can access the new ending added by Phantom Liberty, where V undergoes surgery to remove the Relic from their head.
