The Corporation
To begin, follow your fixer Dex’s advice and arrange a meeting with Meredith Stout, the corporate agent associated with the Flathead robot. She allows you to proceed with the deal with Maelstrom and offers a corporate credit chip infested with malware. It’s crucial to accept this chip. Despite the game tutorial encouraging you to hack it, avoid doing so as it will spell doom for Meredith. Refraining from tampering with the credchip is the optimal choice.
The Negotiation
With the credchip in your possession, it’s time for the actual deal. Since you have the spiked credchip, you’ll face off against Maelstrom at some point. Take the initiative and shoot gang leader Royce during the negotiation. This maneuver instantly kills him and spares you from a challenging boss fight later. Grab his Iconic weapon, and as soon as you eliminate Royce, Militech will raid the factory and plunge Maelstrom into chaos. This creates an opening for you to obtain the Flathead for free. Don’t forget to free former Maelstrom leader Brick on your way out. Having him on your side will be helpful for a side mission later in the game.
The Resolution
After dealing with Maelstrom, Stout will be waiting for you outside the factory. She’ll be impressed with your performance and may even offer a romance option in a later text. The romance option grants you a powerful Iconic Blunt weapon, one of the best melee weapons in the game.
With Meredith and Brick alive and Royce defeated, Night City becomes slightly safer, and you have the prized Flathead in your possession. Now, let’s hope your heist goes smoothly.
