Apex Legends developers thrill players with swift Wingman nerfs early in season 20

Wingman nerfs implemented in response to player complaints

The Wingman, a popular weapon in Apex Legends, has undergone changes in the latest season due to player feedback. The Digital Threat sight, which allowed players to see through smoke screens, has been replaced with a 1x HCOG sight. Additionally, the Wingman’s ammo reserve has been reduced from 110 bullets to 90. These changes were met with approval from both professional players and fans.

Changes noticed during North American ALGS scrims

During a live stream of North American ALGS scrims, viewers quickly noticed the alterations made to the Wingman. The removal of the Digital Threat sight and the adjustment to the ammo pool occurred in the middle of the stream, catching the attention of thousands of Apex fans.

Confirmation of intentional nerfs by Apex weapons designer

After some initial confusion, Apex weapons designer, Eric Canavese, clarified that the nerfs to the Wingman were intentional. Canavese made this announcement on Twitter shortly after the hotfix was implemented, addressing the concerns of players.
