During a live stream of North American ALGS scrims, viewers quickly noticed the alterations made to the Wingman. The removal of the Digital Threat sight and the adjustment to the ammo pool occurred in the middle of the stream, catching the attention of thousands of Apex fans.
Confirmation of intentional nerfs by Apex weapons designer
After some initial confusion, Apex weapons designer, Eric Canavese, clarified that the nerfs to the Wingman were intentional. Canavese made this announcement on Twitter shortly after the hotfix was implemented, addressing the concerns of players.
