Exciting Collaboration Announced Between Esports Awards and Esports World Cup Foundation

Esports World Cup and The Esports Awards Enter Three-Year Partnership

The Esports Awards and the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) have announced a three-year relationship that will bring the world’s most prominent esports awards ceremony and platform to the Esports World Cup, the world’s largest gaming festival, which will be held this summer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 2024 Esports Awards will be hosted on August 24 in Riyadh as a vibrant gala honoring the finest in esports from around the world, including clubs, athletes, content creators, games, and more. The collaboration assures that the Esports Awards will deliver on a larger scale than ever before, with enhanced experiences at the Lifetime Achievement mixer, Red Carpet Event, Esports Village, and the awards ceremony itself. When the award finalists are released on June 27, fans will have the opportunity to vote on them.

Evolution of Esports Awards

Since its establishment in 2015, the Esports Awards has built a reputation for recognizing excellence in esports around the world and supporting industry-growth efforts. Over the last decade, it has grown from a London dinner event to the leading global awarding body and de facto venue for esports recognition.

The global red carpet event, which has previously staged outstanding events in London, Dallas, and Las Vegas, is now making its first appearance in Saudi Arabia. Last year’s star-studded gala drew more than 22 million viewers and saw some of the biggest brands, athletes, and publishers win thirty honors in the Entertainment, Industry, Creative, Pro, On-Air Talent, and Collegiate categories. The event also set a Guinness World Record for the largest digital video game display, with WWE superstars and gaming luminaries alike playing Pac-Man on a 100,000 square foot screen.

The Future of Esports Industry

As the industry grows, it is critical to recognize the events that are defining the future of competitive gaming. The Esports Awards can further its objective by presenting its annual event in a prominent and rising esports hotspot, such as Saudi Arabia, alongside the Esports World Cup, one of the year’s most exciting esports events.

“Partnering with the Esports World Cup allows us to provide an even more extraordinary experience for our candidates, guests, and fans.” The Esports Awards have always been about recognizing exceptional achievements in esports, so we saw the opportunity to collaborate with EWC in Riyadh as a perfect fit. The Middle East is home to one of the world’s fastest-growing and most enthusiastic esports communities, and I am excited to bring the awards to the region for the first time. “I simply hardly wait for this year’s celebration, which I believe will be the most remarkable and unforgettable ever,” stated Michael Ashford, CEO of Esports Awards.

“Hosting the Esports Awards in Riyadh enhances the Esports World Cup by bringing the entire world together to celebrate esports excellence. We can support the Esports Awards as a vital link between Eastern and Western viewers. The Esports Awards is a magnificent banquet that honors stakeholders from all throughout the global esports ecosystem, recognizing not only competitive greatness but also excellence in production, broadcasting, leadership, creative design, and more. “I am pleased to attend this year’s Esports Awards in Riyadh and recognize the finest in esports,” said Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation.
