30 Esports Clubs Partner with the Esports World Cup Foundation for Club Support Program!

Inaugural EWCF Club Support Program Welcomes 30 Esports Clubs

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has recently announced the acceptance of 30 esports Clubs into its debut EWCF Club Support Program. This exciting initiative aims to establish a sustainable infrastructure for multidisciplinary esports Clubs, empowering them to invest in various games and offer career opportunities to athletes globally.

Empowering Esports Organizations

As part of the EWCF Club Support Program, these esports organizations have the opportunity to receive significant funding to compete in new esports titles at the highest level. This funding enables clubs to diversify their competitive footprint, providing more opportunities for esports athletes. Some of the key benefits provided by the program include:

  • Re-entering esports titles with established histories and venturing into new gaming genres

  • Expanding into international markets by signing athletes and rosters from different regions

  • Creating engaging content for fans and hiring staff to support these efforts

A Global Endeavor

The EWCF Club Support Program saw a high level of interest from clubs worldwide, prompting an increase in available slots from 28 to 30. Clubs were selected based on criteria such as their esports pedigree, competitive strategy, and approach to fan engagement. The 30 chosen clubs represent five major esports regions, highlighting the program’s global reach.

Looking Towards the Future

Ralf Reichert, CEO of Esports World Cup Foundation, emphasized the importance of the Club Support Program in strengthening the esports ecosystem and elevating esports as global sports. While acceptance into the program does not guarantee participation in the Esports World Cup, all members have the opportunity to qualify based on their own merits. The total prize pool for the Esports World Cup exceeds $60 million, with additional rewards for driving viewership and fan engagement.

The innovative Club Championship format will award $20 million to the top 16 clubs based on their performance across various game championships. Each game championship will also have its own prize pool, with a combined total exceeding $33 million. Additionally, standout participants will have the chance to receive a $50,000 MVP Award.
