BetMGM UK Partners with the Jockey Club in an Exciting Sponsorship of the County Hurdle

BetMGM UK Announced as Sponsor of the County Hurdle at The Cheltenham Festival

BetMGM UK has been named the new sponsor of the County Hurdle, a prestigious £100,000 Premier Handicap race that takes place on the final day of The Cheltenham Festival. The race will be held on Friday, March 15th, also known as Gold Cup Day.

The County Hurdle has a rich history, with the first race taking place in 1920 and won by Trespasser. Willie Mullins, the most successful trainer in the history of The Cheltenham Festival, has won the race a record six times. Last year, trainer Dan Skelton celebrated his fourth victory in the County Hurdle with 33-1 longshot Faivoir. The race is known for attracting a large field of 26 runners.

As part of a new partnership, BetMGM, a leading online betting and gaming brand, will serve as an Official Betting Partner of The Jockey Club. The brand’s name will also be associated with other flagship races and racedays at Jockey Club Racecourses. These include the Grade Two Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter and the Grade Two Elite Hurdle at Wincanton, both of which take place during The West Country Weekend in November. BetMGM will also be involved in races during Cheltenham’s Christmas Meeting in December.

BetMGM’s Cheltenham Festival TV advert features Hollywood star Chris Rock, who describes the event as the “greatest show on earth, Vegas style.” The advert offers customers the chance to bet £10 and receive £60 in free bets.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Sam Behar, UK Director at BetMGM, expressed excitement and stated that the brand aims to provide an entertaining betting experience for racing fans across the country.

Matt Powell, Acting Director of Partnerships at The Jockey Club, also expressed delight at the new partnership and highlighted the County Hurdle as an important and competitive race during The Cheltenham Festival.
