Upcoming Dota Pro Circuit Season to Begin in November
Teams that participated in The International 10 are preparing for the next Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, which is scheduled to start on November 29, 2021. The season will consist of three circuits, with Majors taking place after each circuit. The dates for the Majors are expected to be in February, May, and August of next year.
Last month, Alliance leaked a schedule that accurately predicted the dates for the DPC seasons. This leak also suggests that the Majors will take place in February, May, and August.
DreamHack and ESL to Organize DPC in Western Europe and North America
DreamHack will continue to organize and cover the Western European region for the upcoming DPC season. However, in the North American region, ESL will replace last year’s organizer, Beyond the Summit. It is possible that Beyond the Summit may move to cover another region, such as Southeast Asia.
Possible New Organizer for Eastern European Region
There is speculation that a new organizer will take over the vacant Eastern European region for the DPC season. WePlay Esports, known for its highly thematic tournaments in the CIS region, including the AniMajor, Bukovel Minor, and OMEGA League, is considered a strong contender for this role.
Valve Updates DPC Rulings and Point Distributions
Valve has quietly released an update regarding DPC rulings and weighted point distributions for Majors. The update states that tournaments closer to The International (TI) will award more points to teams, encouraging better performance in the lead-up to the year’s most significant Dota 2 event.
