What are the main changes in Evil Geniuses’ Dota 2 lineup after the inclusion of Abed and RAMZES in place of SumaiL and s4?

Evil Geniuses Finalizes Dota 2 Roster: SumaiL and s4 Out, Abed and RAMZES In

Evil Geniuses (EG) has made changes to its Dota 2 roster for the upcoming DPC season. The team has dropped Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Gustav “s4” Magnusson, former International winners, in favor of two young stars, Abed Azel L. Yusop and Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. Abed will now take over the mid lane role, while RAMZES fills the offlane position.

EG stuck with its previous roster for over a year, but despite a strong start with a championship win at The Summit 9, they failed to win any LAN tournaments since then. Their disappointing top-six finish at The International 2019 was the final straw. Now, EG is rebuilding its team and hoping to reclaim its former glory.

Abed, RAMZES, and Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, who are now all part of EG, are some of the best players in the Dota 2 scene. Abed was the first player to reach 10,000 MMR, an impressive milestone achieved by only four players in Dota 2 history. RAMZES, on the other hand, started his career as an offlaner and has excelled in the carry role.

However, it’s not just about individual skill. Chemistry and team fit are crucial, as EG has learned from years of Dota 2. While Abed has experience playing in America, this will be RAMZES’ first time playing outside of the CIS region.

SumaiL, who has been with EG for four years, has left big shoes to fill. Abed is a capable replacement, but SumaiL’s one-vs-one dominance will be missed. Abed has his own strengths, including his skillful play with heroes like Meepo and Visage. However, he has a tendency to overplay his hero, which can be punished by professional teams. EG will rely on the experience of Tal “Fly” Alzik and Sam Kanishka “BuLba” Sosaleto to guide Abed during official matches.

RAMZES, known for his mechanical skill and aggression, will smoothly transition into the offlane role. He can also be relied upon as a tertiary carry when needed. Unlike SumaiL’s unsuccessful stint in the offlane position, RAMZES has prior experience in that role.

EG’s new roster will not be seen in competitive action until the official Major and Minor qualifiers on October 5. Stay tuned for their performance in the upcoming season.
