WePlay! to organize the second Minor competition of the 2019-20 DPC season

WePlay! to Host Second Dota Pro Circuit Minor

WePlay!, the Ukrainian esports platform, is set to host the second Minor of the Dota Pro Circuit season. This will be WePlay!’s first Valve event and will take place at Bukovel, the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe.

WePlay!’s Previous Events

WePlay! has previously organized third-party online events, such as the Tug of War and Madness tournament series for different regions.

About the Bukovel Minor

The Bukovel Minor will be the third event of the Dota Pro Circuit, following the Summit 11 Minor and the MDL Chengdu Major. The tournament organizer for the associated Major has not been revealed.

Valve’s New Qualifier Rules

Valve has introduced new qualifier rules for the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit. The qualifiers for both the Major and the Minor will now be played together. The top teams who fail to qualify for the Major will then proceed to another phase to fight for a slot at the Minor. Fifteen teams attending the Major will be decided through the qualifier process, with the last slot reserved for the winner of the associated Minor.

Tournament Format

WePlay! has revealed the format for the Bukovel Minor. Eight teams will be split into two groups of four and will play through a double-elimination GSL format group stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the main event, where they will compete in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three series. The grand finals will be a best-of-five.

The qualifiers for the Bukovel Minor will be held from Dec. 5 to 6, 2019, while the main event will take place from Jan. 9 to 12, 2020.
