Virtus Pro Pulls Out of MDL Changsha, Mineski Selected as Replacement

Virtus Pro Withdraws from Mars Dota 2 League Due to Fatigue and Health Concerns

Three-time Pro Circuit Major champions Virtus Pro have announced their withdrawal from the upcoming Mars Dota 2 League in Changsha, China. The event, which is scheduled to take place from May 14 to 20, will now proceed without the presence of Virtus Pro.

The organizer of the event, MarsTV, broke the news on their official Facebook page earlier today. In their announcement, Virtus Pro cited “fatigue and health concerns” as the primary reasons for their decision to withdraw.

Fortunately, Virtus Pro’s withdrawal from the Mars Dota 2 League will not affect their qualification for The International 8 later this year. Their victory at ESL One Katowice secured their invite to the prestigious tournament. However, they will miss out on the chance to compete for the $1 million prize pool at the Mars Dota 2 League.

MarsTV expressed their disappointment regarding Virtus Pro’s absence and acknowledged the challenges the team is facing. They described Virtus Pro as one of the best teams in the world and expressed understanding for their current situation.

Mineski Replaces Virtus Pro at MDL Changsha

As a replacement for Virtus Pro, Southeast Asian squad and Dota 2 Asia Championship winner Mineski will receive a direct invite to MDL Changsha. Mineski recently surprised the Dota 2 community by defeating LGD Gaming in a five-game series. Their impressive performance at the tournament allowed them to secure a spot in the Pro Circuit standings and become eligible for a direct invite to The International 8.

Mineski’s invitation to MDL Changsha creates an opportunity for other teams in the Southeast Asian qualifier, such as Fnatic, TNC Pro Team, and Execration, to earn a place in the event.
