Virtus Pro Dota 2 Team Rumored for Complete Disbanding as CEO Departs

Virtus.pro and CEO Sergey Glamazda Part Ways After Reorganization

After over two years, Virtus.pro and CEO Sergey Glamazda have decided to part ways. The organization’s parent company, ESforce Holdings, plans to rely on a team of top managers to lead the company following a reorganization that eliminates the CEO position.

This move confirms ESforce’s more prominent role in managing VP and adds credibility to rumors of potential major changes within the organization. These changes may include the Dota 2 roster and other areas, as the team was recently disqualified from an event due to an incident involving one of its players.

“I’m grateful to Virtus.pro for this amazing journey we shared together over the course of the last two and a half years. I remember every tournament, every win, and every loss,” said Glazmada. “The victories made me proud, while defeats, for which I always took responsibility, taught me. Thank you to brilliant players that bring their talents to the club and make it stronger every day. Thank you to the fans that inspired me with their emotions, comments, and memes. I’m glad I got to know all of you! I keep cheering for ‘The Bears’ as a humble viewer.”

According to ESforce CEO Nikolay Petrosyan, the decision to reorganize VP and systematize the organization’s workflow came after discussions and facing new challenges. ESforce’s team of top managers will oversee VP’s larger operations and have a holistic understanding of the company’s goals.

However, VP’s senior managers will continue to lead each gaming division due to their experience and knowledge in running daily operations for their respective games.

The disqualification of Virtus.pro’s Dota 2 roster from the Eastern Europe Spring Tour’s Dota Pro Circuit Regional Playoffs may further contribute to changes within the organization. The punishment was a result of a player drawing a militarist symbol used in propaganda campaigns for the ongoing Ukraine invasion on the in-game mini-map.

VP terminated the contract of the player involved and released the coach a few days later due to unsatisfactory results. There are also rumors of a potential roster shakeup, with the possibility of the current roster disbanding.

Other rumors suggest that one player may leave VP to join a team in Europe, with Nigma Galaxy being a speculated potential destination. Former player RAMZES is also mentioned as a possible addition to VP’s roster, replacing the released player.

Meanwhile, Remco “Crystallis” Arets is rumored to be leaving Entity to join Team Secret. This move aims to quickly rebuild Secret’s roster following disappointing Tours. If the rumors are true, Crystallis will likely replace SumaiL on the Secret roster.

The roster lock for teams not competing in the ESL One Stockholm Major is now open. Teams and players have until May 24 to make changes to their current rosters and until May 29 to add new players for the Summer Tour.
