Vici Gaming’s Journey Comes to an End as Invictus Gaming Sweeps Them at The International 10

Vici Gaming Eliminated from The International 10, Finishes in Fifth Place

Vici Gaming has been eliminated from the rest of Dota 2’s The International 10 after a 0-2 defeat to Invictus Gaming.

Coming in as the third seed from the Chinese region, behind Major winners Invictus Gaming and PSG.LGD, VG had a strong run in the tournament. They made it to the upper bracket from the group stage and after facing an initial loss in the first round, fought back in the lower bracket.

During their run, they defeated Evil Geniuses and T1, but were unable to overcome their regional rival, losing 0-2 to Invictus Gaming.

At first, it seemed VG was capable of holding their own against the higher-ranked Chinese team. They even had a stroke of luck around the 17-minute mark when iG left the Aegis of the Immortal in the Roshan pit due to miscommunication.

However, this only temporarily neutralized the advantage of iG and eventually led to VG’s opponent building a bigger lead. The game took a turn during a teamfight at the 50-minute mark, where iG overwhelmed VG with their resources and Emo’s level 30 Ember Spirit equipped with a Divine Rapier. GGs were called just a few minutes later.

The second game followed a similar pattern, as VG took an early lead but couldn’t maintain it against iG’s superior teamfighting skills.

VG’s elimination from TI10 means they finish in fifth place, matching their performance from TI9.

Speaking about their performance, Dy said, “Stopping at top six is a bit unfortunate, however, we have no regrets. Hopefully, Vici will cheer on the other Chinese teams and we can still take the Aegis home back to China.”

Although they won’t be taking the Aegis home, VG earned a prize of $1,400,600 and will enter the next Dota Pro Circuit season with the determination to make it back to the TI main stage.
