Vici and Invictus Gaming Confirm Dota 2 Rosters for the 2023 DPC: The Grand Reset

The 2022 Dota Pro Circuit Season: A Disappointing Year for Chinese Teams

The 2022 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season was not a memorable one for Chinese teams. Despite having a team in the finals in seven of the 10 The International events, Chinese participants failed to break into the top three at TI11. Underdogs like Aster couldn’t rise to the occasion, and big names like Vici and Invictus Gaming failed to make an impact, resulting in the need for roster changes.

IG’s Rebuild for the 2023 DPC Season

Going into the 2023 DPC season, only Zhou “Emo” Yi remains in IG. All the former members of the squad, except for Xu “fy” Linsen who joined in 2022, have left the organization. IG underwent a complete rebuild, bringing in Zhou “Dust” Shiyuan, Li “Irving” Jian, Wilson “poloson” Koh, and Cui “qyqx” Chenyang.

While poloson is making the move from SEA’s Team SMG to the Chinese region, the remaining three players spent most of the 2022 DPC season in division two with Team Magma.

Vici Gaming’s Welcomes Back fy

As IG said goodbye to two-time TI runner-up fy, Vici Gaming welcomed back their former legend. fy joined a roster centered around Yang “Erika” Shaohan, Zhou “Yang” Haiyang, and Li “niu” Kongbo. Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong, who was previously on the inactive roster of Royal Never Give Up, also joined Vici.

Drastic Changes for IG and Vici Gaming

Considering both IG and Vici Gaming have been at the top of the Dota 2 scene for a while, their disappointing performances in the previous season called for drastic changes. Both organizations enter the new season with high hopes, and only time will tell if they have what it takes to challenge the rest of the world.
