Valve Launches Dota 2 Gameplay Patch 7.31: Introducing Techies revamp and fresh Primal Beast hero

The Wait is Over: Dota 2 Gameplay Patch 7.31 Arrives

Valve has delivered the much-anticipated gameplay patch 7.31 for Dota 2 fans, breaking their tradition of delayed releases. The update brings a Techies rework and the introduction of the new hero Primal Beast, along with changes to jungle camps.

Gameplay Changes and New Content

Primal Beast’s arrival adds new abilities to existing jungle creatures and introduces new jungle spawns, increasing the variety in the game. Additionally, three new items have been added to the item shop, with four items receiving reworks.

Players will need to adapt to the gameplay and hero changes, as almost all heroes in the roster have received buffs or nerfs with the new patch.

Notable Changes in Patch 7.31

Here are some of the notable changes introduced in patch 7.31:

  • Techies Rework: Techies now have new abilities, including Sticky Bomb, Reactive Tazer, Blast Off!, and Proximity Mines.
  • Gameplay Updates: Cooldown reduction now stacks diminishingly, bounty runes have been moved, offlane towers have been repositioned, and heroes are invulnerable when respawning in the fountain until they issue a command. Neutral creeps also receive upgrades over time.
  • New Items: Revenant’s Brooch, Wraith Pact, and Boots of Bearing have been added to the item shop.

Adapting to Changes

Changes of this magnitude can significantly impact the metagame in Dota 2. Strategies that worked previously may no longer be effective, and it may take some time for professional players to discover the optimal ways to play the game following the Primal Beast update. Players can experiment with the changes and observe how they play out in pro tournaments.

For more details, players can check out the complete patch notes on Dota 2’s official website or within the game lobby after installing the February patch.
