Valve Introduces New Choice to Continue Utilizing the Sideshop in Battle Pass 2020

Valve Adds New Option for Sideshop Feature in Dota 2

In a recent update, Valve initially announced the shutdown of the Sideshop feature in Dota 2. However, the company has now changed its approach and introduced an option that allows players to continue using the feature.

The reversion to last year’s Battle Pass recycling model would have made it challenging to utilize the Sideshop. But now, players have the flexibility to toggle the feature on or off based on their preference.

With the new option enabled, players can make use of the Sideshop’s recycling mechanic with minimal limitations. And if they decide to go back to the simpler methods of recycling items, they can easily turn the feature off whenever they want.

Regardless of whether players choose to use the revised 2019 recycling model or stick with the Sideshop, they will still receive gold through the Guilds and Gauntlets.

Valve has acknowledged that some players may have already spent their gold and consumed their gems after the recent update. To address this, the company will restore everyone’s gold to the value it was before the update. Any spent gems will also be refunded. However, items redeemed through the store will remain in players’ inventories.

In addition, players have the option to recover their bench if they have sold their Sideshop items and heroes.

To enable or disable the Sideshop, players can go to the miscellaneous options in the Dota 2 client and click on the advanced tab. The update is already live, so players can dive back into the Sideshop and enjoy the new feature.
