Valve Deploys Late Dota 2 Patch: Bug Fixes and Quality-of-Life Changes
On May 30, Valve released a new patch for Dota 2 aimed at addressing bugs and implementing quality-of-life improvements. The patch, following Patch 7.33c, seeks to enhance the gaming experience for players.
Key Changes:
- The Tormentor and Wisdom runes, introduced in Patch 7.33, now provide benefits only to active players instead of abandoned ones.
- Phylactery, a spellcasting item, has been updated to ensure all targeted spells trigger the item’s bonus damage effect.
- A bug fix has been implemented for Spirit Breaker, who occasionally experienced disabled abilities during Patch 7.33c.
Increased Popularity of Spirit Breaker:
With the bug fix, Spirit Breaker’s pick rate has risen by 12 percent, accompanied by an above-average win rate, as reported by Dotabuff.

- Watchers now display colors based on the controlling team, rather than Radiant and Dire.
- Auto-selected summoned units no longer close the shop UI.
- Wisdom Runes no longer grant XP to abandoned players.

- The Tormentor bug causing idle or flinch animation issues has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug relating to Dust of Appearance and Alchemist’s Unstable Concoction Throw that prevented Phylactery from triggering.

- Gyrocopter’s Flak Cannon modifier now updates attacks remaining when refreshed.
- Fixed issues with Hoodwink’s Acorn Shot, Medusa’s Mystic Snake, Tinker’s Laser, and Zeus’ Arc Lightning when targeting low-health units with Phylactery equipped.
- Fixed Legion Commander’s Overwhelming Odds radius indicator display.
- Ogre Magi’s level 25 talent (Fireblast on Attack) now properly applies even after selling or unequipping Aghanim’s Scepter.
- Fixed a bug with Outworld Destroyer’s Astral Imprisonment that caused mana restoration after removing a stack of the debuff.
- Shadow Fiend’s Necromastery tooltip now accurately reflects the soul loss on death.
- Fixed Spirit Breaker’s Charge of Darkness continuing after death, rendering the ability unusable.
- Eimer Hillburrow courier can now be selected.
- Various tooltip issues and relics have been fixed.
