Undying’s Thrilling Victory Sends OG, T1 to The International 10 Upper Bracket, Defeating Evil Geniuses

North America Teams Advance to Lower Bracket at Dota 2’s TI10

Seeding at Dota 2’s biggest tournament came down to a clash among North American teams. In the final games of The International 10’s group stage, OG, T1, and Evil Geniuses were vying for the last two spots in the Group B upper bracket. T1 swept Thunder Predator and OG split their series with Invictus Gaming, while Evil Geniuses needed a 2-0 victory against Undying to force a tiebreaker.

Undying put up a tough fight in game two, despite being dominated by EG in the early game. A crucial play by Jonas “SabeRLight-” Volek and Jonathan “Bryle” Santos De Guia shifted the momentum in Undying’s favor, ultimately ending EG’s hopes for an upper bracket berth in the main event.

Thanks to SabeRLight-‘s performance, OG and T1 secured spots in the upper bracket without the need for a tiebreaker. This comes after SabeRLight-‘s controversial interaction with Southeast Asian players earlier this year.

All three North American teams will now compete in the lower bracket at TI10’s main event. In this stage, teams will play best-of-one contests and fight to stay in the tournament.

Quincy Crew narrowly avoided elimination by defeating SG Esports earlier in the day. They will not face another NA team in the first round of the lower bracket thanks to their victory against Elephant.

The full bracket for the main event will be released before the competition resumes on October 12.
