Two notable teams, NiP and OG, set to battle at The Bucharest Minor

Eight Teams Compete in the Bucharest Minor in January

The Bucharest Minor in January will feature a total of eight competing teams. The winner of the event will not only earn their share of $300,000 and 500 DPC points, but also claim the final spot in the Chongqing Major.

Full Roster Announced for the Dota Pro Circuit Event

The second Minor event of the current Dota Pro Circuit is quickly approaching, and the full roster of teams has now been locked in after six different regional qualifiers. Among the qualifiers, the European region showcased two teams that seem to be in the best position to take the event.

OG and Ninjas in Pyjamas Dominate European Qualifiers

OG and Ninjas in Pyjamas both had a dominant performance in the group stage of the European qualifiers. They eventually faced off in the winners finals of the playoffs, where OG came out on top with a 2-0 victory to claim the top seed. Meanwhile, NiP secured second place by defeating Vega Squadron. With their strong performances, OG and NiP are likely to be early favorites in the tournament.

Upcoming Teams Ready to Compete Against Favorites

While OG and NiP are considered favorites, the less-experienced teams that made it through other qualifiers are not to be underestimated. Keen Gaming, who have been making a name for themselves in the pro scene, secured China’s top seed after a close battle with Team Root. EHOME, a Dota 2 mainstay, defeated Root in the losers bracket and will aim to continue their success from smaller tournaments into the DPC.

In regions aside from Europe and China, the qualifying process was even more challenging, with only one representative emerging from each region. This makes the competition even more intense.

In North America, Team Team dominated the playoffs, although they faced tough competition from compLexity Gaming in the finals. The final match was a grueling 68-minute battle, but Team Team managed to secure their spot in the Minor before the timer hit 70.

Playmakers Esports stood out in the South America qualifiers, with their only real challenge coming from Infamous in the opening round. After being disqualified from their last tournament, Playmakers seem to be in top form heading into the Minor.

BOOM ID had a difficult time breaking out of the Southeast Asia bracket, but they showcased their strength by defeating Mineski and pushing Clutch Gamers to three games before ultimately winning the tournament.

Gambit Esports overcame a rough start in the opening round to secure the final spot in the event. Their impressive performance in the CIS region earned them a place among the eight competitors.
