Tundra Esports Signs Two-Time The International Winner Topson for TI12
Rumors have been confirmed as Tundra Esports announces the addition of two-time The International winner, Topson, to their roster for TI12 in October.
Seasonal Shifts and Team Restructuring
Topson joins Tundra following the news of Saksa taking a break from competing due to undisclosed health reasons. The team is making adjustments to their lineup to incorporate Topson and aims to secure another championship title.
Positional Changes and Team Dynamics
has confirmed that Topson will assume the midlane role for Tundra, causing Nine to switch to position four. This change is more significant compared to the previous season’s role swap and lineup adjustments. Sneyking, who was previously in position five, made way for Saksa, who filled his old soft support position.
Prior Hints and Topson’s Return
Speculations about Topson joining Tundra started as early as August. At that time, it appeared that Old G would disband, and Topson announced he would not participate in the regional qualifiers for TI12. Nine was seen playing as a position four player, indicating a potential break for Saksa and a secure place for the former OG star to compete for his third Aegis.
This will be Topson’s comeback to TI since his departure from OG’s main roster in November 2021. He briefly returned as a stand-in for T1 during the Southeast Asian qualifiers and last chance qualifier for TI11. He then made a full return this year alongside Ceb with Old G for the Dota Pro Circuit.
Topson previously stood in for Tundra during BetBoom Universe Episode One in February. However, this time he will be playing with the team in an extended capacity.
We can expect to see Topson and Tundra showcasing their revised lineup at DreamLeague Season 21 on September 18, which will likely be their final major event before focusing entirely on preparations for TI12. The prestigious tournament is set to begin on October 12.
