Tundra Esports Get Closer to Dota 2 History by Defeating Team Secret at TI11

Tundra Esports Dominates Team Secret in Upper Bracket Finals of The International 2022

In a stunning display of skill, Tundra Esports crushed Team Secret in the upper bracket finals of The International 2022, securing their place in the grand finals. The victory was so overwhelming that even Lord Gaben himself gave Team Secret a zero percent chance of coming back. It was a one-sided match that left viewers in awe.

Unlike the closely contested series between Team Aster and Team Liquid, Tundra and Secret were familiar with each other’s playstyles. Both teams played with an intensity that showcased their knowledge of each other’s strategies. However, it was Tundra’s dominance in game three that sealed their victory, with stellar performances from Nine’s Tusk and 33’s Enigma.

Tundra’s game one strategy focused on outscaling Secret’s teamfight-centric draft by playing the slow game and pushing lanes. Secret fought back with a more balanced approach, setting the tempo and utilizing Resolut1on’s Dawnbreaker and Crystallis’ Drow Ranger to push through Tundra’s defenses. The Drow Ranger even managed to record the ninth Rampage in TI main stage history, showcasing Secret’s resilience.

However, Tundra would dominate the rest of the series, winning game three decisively and securing their spot in TI11’s grand finals. This achievement is even more impressive as it is Tundra’s first appearance in a TI tournament.

Saksa, a player from Tundra, expressed his confidence early in the final game, stating that he felt it was already over within the first 15 minutes. Despite some cautious plays due to the high stakes, Tundra ultimately emerged victorious.

Having secured their place in the grand finals, Tundra now awaits the outcome of the lower bracket finals between Team Secret and Team Liquid. The clash between these teams, who both made it to TI11 through the Last Chance Qualifier, is highly anticipated.

Interestingly, Puppey, Secret’s captain, has played more games with two members of Team Liquid than with his entire current team combined. This further adds to the intrigue of the upcoming match.

Meanwhile, Tundra continues to dominate TI11. As the top seed from Group B, they have only lost a single game throughout the upper-bracket series. Their performance has solidified them as the heavy favorite to win the tournament.

Additionally, the match between Tundra and Secret was a reunion of former teammates. Saksa and Reso, both players from Digital Chaos, competed against each other, with Saksa emerging as the victor. This victory marks the first appearance in a TI finals for the majority of Tundra’s roster, including Nine.

No matter the outcome of the grand finals, a Western European team will claim the Aegis of Champions. However, Tundra has established themselves as the clear frontrunners.
