Tundra dominates TI11 and establishes the toughest Dota 2 region

The International 11: Tundra Esports Secures North America’s Victory

The International, known as Dota 2’s World Cup, brings together teams from all over the world to determine the best. Fans rally behind teams and players from their respective regions.

Although three Western European teams appeared to dominate the final stages of TI11, there was a surprising contender among them. Tundra Esports, North America’s last hope, emerged as the ultimate victors, winning the hearts of North American Dota fans.

All of the North American teams were eliminated early in TI11, but Tundra provided solace with two North American members in their winning squad. Sneyking, an American player, and Aui_2000, a Canadian coach, carried North America to the pinnacle of success, reminiscent of Evil Geniuses’ win in TI5.

In 2015, despite being considered one of the weaker regions due to limited internal competition, North America triumphed at TI5 with Evil Geniuses. Led by Peter “ppd” Dager, the region consistently delivered impressive performances in the subsequent years.

Despite facing memes and banter, the North American region always manages to make an impact in major events. At TI11, EG entered as the first seed in their group and were considered top contenders. North American teams often face prejudice from fans due to their geographical isolation, but they continue to excel and refine their skills with limited resources.
