TSM, Talon Esports, and other teams eliminated in last moments of TI11 Dota 2

The International 2022 Group Stage Wraps Up with Eliminations

The group stage of The International 2022 has officially concluded, with four teams being eliminated on the final day after four days of intense competition.

Only one team, Evil Geniuses, had secured their position in the standings early on as the top seed from Group A. This meant that every match on the final day was crucial, as poor performance could lead to elimination for several teams.

First to be eliminated was TSM, the top seed from North America. They failed to win a single series throughout the group stage and were the only team facing elimination that did not get a chance to play a tiebreaker.

EG’s inability to close out their final series against BOOM Esports partially contributed to Soniqs’ elimination. Only EG from North America advanced to the main event.

Soniqs found themselves in a three-way tiebreaker with BetBoom Team and BOOM. Unfortunately, they were knocked out by an inspired BOOM squad, who also defeated BetBoom, sealing Soniqs’ fate.

In Group B, Talon Esports fell to Team Secret. If Talon had won just one game against Secret, they would have qualified for the main event. However, their loss pushed them into a fight for survival against Pure Gaming and Entity, who took revenge with a 2-0 victory, sending Talon home.

Every region is represented in the main event, with all six teams from Western Europe qualifying, along with three teams each from South America and China.

The main event for TI11 starts on October 20, with the next round of eliminations featuring a clash between Hokori and beastcoast from South America.
