Topson Criticizes Viewer’s Doubt in His Ability to Excel as a Top Dota 2 Player Once More

Topson Shows His Skills Despite Twitch Chat Toxicity

During his recent Twitch stream on Feb. 15, Topson encountered some toxic behavior. Not only was he flamed by kaori, a player from Ooredoo Thunders, but viewers also tried to get under his skin.

False Claims About Topson’s Ranking

For some unknown reason, the chat started flooding with messages claiming that Topson has never been the number one ranked player on the official leaderboards in any region. However, this is simply not true.

Topson Sets the Record Straight

Despite the negativity, Topson remained unfazed. He calmly reminded everyone that he has, in fact, been the number one player in Europe twice before.

“I never reached rank one? What are you guys talking about?” he said. “I reached rank one before you guys even started playing Dota. In 2013, I did it with Earth Spirit. And I did it again in 2017, but with normal heroes.”

Reflecting on Rank and Attitude

Although Topson admitted that he hasn’t been able to achieve the top ranking again since joining OG, he explained that it’s because he stopped taking the ranked grind seriously. He felt that since he was already playing at the highest level, it wasn’t necessary.

However, he acknowledged that this attitude isn’t really a good one. He emphasized that everyone, including himself, should take ranked matches seriously as they form the foundation of the Dota 2 scene.

Topson’s Recent Performance

This year, Topson hasn’t had much presence at the top level. He did participate in the BetBoom Universe event as a stand-in for Tundra Esports, along with Nightfall, where they defeated Team Spirit in an epic grand final. This proved that Topson still possesses the skills of a top Dota 2 player, regardless of his current rank.
