Top Dota 2 Teams of 2020: Check out the most-watched

Team Nigma Dominates European Dota 2 Ranking in 2020

Team Nigma emerged as the leading team in the European Dota 2 scene in 2020, according to the latest report by Esports Charts. They topped the charts in terms of the number of hours watched, outperforming other competitive teams.

Out of the top 10 teams, an impressive eight belonged to the European region. The remaining two teams, Virtus Pro and Natus Vincere, were from the CIS region. Although the Chinese gaming market has a significant presence and a thriving competitive scene, Esports Charts did not include major Chinese streaming platforms in their ranking.

The top three teams, Nigma, Team Secret, and OG, collectively accumulated more than 30 million hours of watch time. Their popularity can be attributed to their star players and consistently remarkable performances. Nigma had over 350 hours of airtime, slightly behind Vikin.gg in the top 10, while Secret and OG logged 289 and 269 hours, respectively. Team Liquid and Alliance also secured spots in the top five, representing the dominance of European teams.

Vikin.gg gained attention after securing an upset victory over Team Secret during the ESL One Los Angeles Online tournament in April. Since then, this diverse team of talented players, formed in 2019, has risen steadily in the highly competitive European scene. They currently compete in the upper division of the Dota Pro Circuit Regional League.

The North American team, Evil Geniuses, managed to crack the top 10 despite playing only 68 games. They opted to skip several tournaments starting in early September but still garnered significant attention and viewership.
