Top Dota 2 Players and Teams Not Included in The International 2022

The International 2022’s Last Chance Qualifiers: Teams That Didn’t Make It

The Last Chance Qualifiers for The International 2022 have concluded, determining the final teams to compete in the event. With only 20 slots available, many talented players and teams from around the world were left out.

In the Dota 2 scene, new talent is always emerging, and some of the veteran players had to make way for the up-and-comers. Unfortunately, despite their efforts during the DPC seasons, the following teams and players failed to secure a spot in TI11, which can have a significant impact on their plans for the upcoming competitive season.

Nigma Galaxy, a team consisting of former TI winners, failed to qualify for TI11. Even before SumaiL joined the team on May 28, Nigma had a rough season. They were relegated to the second division of the Western European DPC for the first time in their history.

To their credit, Nigma quickly reclaimed their spot in the first division, only dropping one match in Tour Three. However, they couldn’t make it past the regional qualifiers for TI10 and now face their second consecutive absence from the tournament.

VP had a season of near misses. Initially, they had enough points to secure a direct qualification for TI11. However, Valve’s calculations revealed that they were 0.05 points short, giving Fnatic the spot instead.

VP had to go through the regional qualifiers and made it to the grand finals, but they were defeated by BetBoom Team in the Eastern European qualifiers. As a result, they had to compete in the Last Chance Qualifiers to secure their place in TI.

In the LCQ, VP came close to qualifying but were ultimately beaten by Team Liquid, making them the team with the most missed opportunities to attend TI.

T1 made some significant roster changes, acquiring former TI winners Ana and Topson just before the regional qualifiers. With these additions, the team quickly gained a fan following and performed well in the qualifiers until the upper bracket finals. However, T1 lost to Talon Esports and then Polaris, sending them to the Last Chance Qualifiers.

In the LCQ, T1 had a slow start but managed to bounce back and enter the playoffs with momentum. Unfortunately, their journey ended in the lower bracket quarterfinals, and they were eliminated from the competition.

Xtreme Gaming was considered a fan favorite and had high expectations before the Last Chance Qualifiers. However, they had a mediocre performance, struggling to maintain leads but still managing to win matches. After being knocked out of the upper bracket, they faced a tough challenge against Infamous.

Although they managed to defeat NAVI, Xtreme Gaming fell short against Liquid in the lower bracket quarterfinals.
